Circus elephants took out their anger and frustration on parked cars recently in Denmark. One of the animals was wading in the sea and was hit by a trainer for not following his instructions. Circus elephants took out their anger and frustration on parked cars recently in Denmark. One of the animals was wading in the sea and was hit by a trainer for not following his instructions. The animal reacted by breaking free along with two others, chasing tourists and battering a number of cars. A woman was knocked to the ground and suffered slight injuries. The circus said however that the tourists should not have been so close to the elephants and claimed that as the cars should not have been parked there, it was not responsible for any of the damage caused.

The truck then rolled onto one of the cars, spilling its 5.5tonne cargo of frozen fish in the process. Those involved in the crash may have smelt afterwards, but escaped without serious injuries. There were 661 road deaths in the Netherlands in 2011, down 47% from 1,251 in 1996. For passenger cars over the same period there was a 73.5% decrease in road fatalities, from 609 to 221.
