Trimble’s solutions can make road construction more efficient
2122 Trimble is now offering a sophisticated package of solutions comprising hardware, software and mobility technologies. This streamlines communication and collaboration throughout the construction lifecycle, from planning, design and site preparation through to the finished project. Connecting sites delivers value across the entire project lifecycle, as real-time data gives contractors and stakeholders better information about material, people and asset utilisation for improved productivity.

Trimble is demonstrating how its Connected Site solutions can transform grading and excavating, paving, drilling and piling. Site data management, productivity management, and tracking and inspection allow contractors to check site productivity from one machine to an entire site. Project Monitoring – enables contractors to monitor and record material movement, earthworks progress and compaction data. Wireless Data Synchronisation ensures both machines and construction surveyors have the latest 3D design data. Contractors can save time by eliminating rework due to inaccurate or out-of-date information, as well as eliminating delays associated with driving from the office to the site to provide operators and other personnel with updated plans.

Internet delivered GPS corrections and positioning services eliminate costs associated with establishing a fixed GNSS base station network for each project. Remote assistant allows contractor or SITECH support personnel to see what field crews and earthworks machine operators are viewing, without leaving the office.

Telematics – provides an overview of machine use, load counts, cycle times, tyre health and working utilisation. By centralising and simplifying key information and the management of on-site operations, contractors can maximise efficiency, raise productivity and lower costs across their entire mixed fleet.

In the ready mix concrete and aggregate industries, on-time delivery is critical and efficient fleet management is essential. TrimFleet is designed to help the construction materials industry increase productivity and improve operational efficiency, uses reliable in-vehicle hardware and sensors combined with software applications to provide real-time location and status information for ready mix and aggregate fleets.

In addition to telematics and sensor technology, TrimFleet allows users to monitor driver behaviour and safety, identify drivers and individual service statuses, route drivers to and from job sites, monitor fuel usage and efficiency, communicate effectively and safely, evaluate vehicle diagnostics remotely, as well as generate reports and review business performance analytics.
