3501 Terex Finlay is looking to capitalise on healthy North American demand for premium crushing and screening equipment.

“The North America market has been very buoyant for us and it’s growing every year,” said Alan Witherow, Terex Finlay’s product manager. “Talking to some of our dealers on the first day-and-a-half of the show, the mood is very positive.”

Brian Pauley, Terex Finlay’s marketing manager, added: “The US is traditionally a jaw crusher and screen market and we are seeing demand for a bit of all our product range. The recycling market here is growing, but quarrying and mining remains at the heart of equipment demand.”

An exciting recent development from Terex Finlay has been the launch of its first Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI) crusher – the V-2050. The company says the 400tonnes/hour capacity tracked Rock on Rock (ROR) vertical shaft impactor produces a superior high specification product in quarrying and mineral processing industries with excellent overall plant throughput capacity.

Capable of processing feed sizes up to 60mm and used for tertiary crushing, the landmark machine is built around the field-proven Canica V-2050 chamber that features a new patent-pending hydraulically- controlled dual flow system. The heart of the VSI is the six-port heavy duty closed rotor, which is especially suited to more abrasive applications and minimises wear costs.

“The V-2050 is good for processing hard rock through to limestone,” said Pauley. “The machine is highly mobile and its dual-flow system means you can increase production without increasing fuel consumption.”

Witherow added: “We’ve sold one of these models to a customer in the Scottish Highlands. It’s improved the quality of his product making it hi-spec. This has attracted new customers in the UK, including in London.”

At CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017, Terex Finlay is showcasing its I-140 direct drive 1,270mm x 1,240mm horizontal impact crusher with variable speed and the proven Terex CR032 chamber, said to give excellent reduction ratios and high consistency of product shape.

A significant engineering approach being introduced in this model is the material flow through the plant, which has been significantly improved by increasing the width of components as the material moves through the machine.

The I-140 features an advanced electronic control system that monitors and controls the speed of the rotor and regulates the heavy duty vibrating feeder with integrated pre-screen to maintain a consistent feed of material into the impact chamber for optimal crushing conditions.
