Telestack’s LF 514 has electric power option
If environmental or fuel consumption are issues, then one of the latest medium size mobile low feeders from 3242 Telestack, a maker of mobile bulk material handling units, can be fitted with an electric motor.

The inclined LF 514 conveyor is a tracked low feeder suitable for space restricted areas such as in warehouses where it can be on loose material stockpiling duty. Or it can be used for loading vessels and barges. Thanks to a low rear side, it can be fed with front end loaders and excavators.

There is also a hopper feeder for medium to large loaders. For transportation, the hopper sides can be folded manually or an optional hydraulic folding unit can be factory fitted.

Telestack will also make their conveyors to the customer’s specifications. The one on display at the Telestack open-air stand during bauma is a modified LF 514 destined for Zurcher, in southern Germany. It will see duty in rail yards, explained Padraig McDermott, Telestack’s European and North American sales manager.

This one is 12.5m long in transport mode, slightly shorter than the normal 14m, to fit onto the customer’s transport trailers, he said.

The machine for Zurcher also has dual power units – a 75.4kW diesel hydraulic engine for tracks and conveyor belts and electric motor for belt drive only if needed. If, when on the jobsite and ready to roll, the machine is near an electrical power supply, the conveyors can be powered by the electric motor alone. A heavy duty electrical connection unit has been added to Zurcher’s LF 514.
