JCB’s Teleskid raises the bar in the skid steer loader market

255 JCB has given its skid steer and compact tracked loader range some much-needed functionality with the introduction of a telescopic boom at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

Equipped with a new design of boom, the US-built models are badged Teleskid and are claimed by JCB to be the world’s first skid steer and compact tracked loaders to get a telescopic boom.

There are two models, both with 56kW engines – the 3TS-8W on a wheeled chassis, and the 3TS-8T on a tracked chassis. While maximum load height and reach statistics are identical for both models at 4m and 2.4m respectively, they offer different lift capacities.

On wheels, the Teleskid can lift 1450kg with its boom retracted and 590kg with it extended, while the tracked machine packs a little more muscle with a 1636kg lift capacity when retracted, and an identical 590kg lift capacity when extended.
