A would-be car-jacker in California was brought to a speedy halt by a police dog. The man stole a stretched Humvee limousine at gunpoint from its chauffeur, who immediately called the police. A chase soon ensued and the police pursued the man for 50km, before he was forced to halt the vehicle. The man then jumped out of the vehicle and ran away, waving his arms, and pursuing police realised that he was completely naked. A police dog soon brought the man to a halt. Footage of the attempted escape was  filmed from a helicopter and showed the naked man being tackled by the police dog. Precisely how the animal stopped him so quickly is not 100% clear but it did appear extremely painful and the man is likely to have regretted making his attempt to escape. Why he had neglected to wear clothes is another fact that has not been revealed by the authorities.

The vehicle is definitely not likely to be made road legal any time soon and nor is a model with a similar performance ever likely to be available from the original

The chase lasted for around one hour and the vehicle hit speeds of up to 160km/h during the pursuit, which covered a distance of around 72km in all between Cleveland and Milan. Officers managed to box the car in and bring it to a halt, without anyone being injured. The driver was a 10-year-old boy who took his mother’s car, the second time that the lad had done this in just
