2920 Pro-Teq Surfacing (UK) has developed a new website that allows customers and clients faster access to product data and place orders. The firm's novel safety surface refurbishment system is said to be cost effective, hard wearing and long lasting, while providing improved safety through its non-slip capabilities. Pro-Teq Surfacing's new website: www.pro-teqsurfacing.com includes detailed information on the system and is expected to provide better access to information on the product. The company's surfacing product uses a traditional wet pour or rubber tiled surface as a base and can then be used to cover an area with a seamless coat of polyurethane and UV protected rubber crumb which does not split or shrink. According to the firm this product offers both cost and environmental benefits as conventional tiles are expensive to place in landfill.

An innovative water-based coating is said to offer effective corrosion protection. The product has passed 1,000 hours of salt spray testing, despite its 1 mil dry film thickness (DFT). The key feature is the advanced Nano VpCI coating chemistry developed by Cortec Laboratories. The EcoShield 386 water-based coating is said to offer a breakthrough for the water-based corrosion inhibitor coatings market as it can protect metal structures in harsh outdoor conditions with a thin highgloss clear coating. Barrier and crash cushion systems can make a great deal of difference to roadway safety, with new technology offering major benefits to road users. In North America and Western Europe, concrete centre line dividers are being used for many major highways as these provide a durable solution for preventing cross-over accidents with large vehicles such as heavy trucks. It is worth noting too that other countries are now adopting concrete barriers for highway centre line dividers also, with this system being use

    March 14, 2012
Using geosynthetics for soil reinforcement is highly effective but requires a high quality and trusted geogrid. When it comes to deciding which geogrid is best for a specific project, a number of product parameters must be taken into account. In the design of steep slopes, the most important parameter is the available long term design strength (Pdes). Recently, Colbond has significantly increased this factor for its high performance Enkagrid product, recognised with a newly updated BBA (British Board of Ag
