2920 Pro-Teq Surfacing (UK) has developed a new website that allows customers and clients faster access to product data and place orders. The firm's novel safety surface refurbishment system is said to be cost effective, hard wearing and long lasting, while providing improved safety through its non-slip capabilities. Pro-Teq Surfacing's new website: www.pro-teqsurfacing.com includes detailed information on the system and is expected to provide better access to information on the product. The company's surfacing product uses a traditional wet pour or rubber tiled surface as a base and can then be used to cover an area with a seamless coat of polyurethane and UV protected rubber crumb which does not split or shrink. According to the firm this product offers both cost and environmental benefits as conventional tiles are expensive to place in landfill.

One of the latest innovations in quarrying is the use of drones, which provide major benefits for optimising operations. The use of affordable drone hardware and software solutions can help reduce stockpile inventory time by as much as 70%. Through the recent partnership between Trimble and Propeller, drone data can now be an everyday tool in quarries by proving a transformational impact
  • 'Soft' option gets results
    February 8, 2012
Soft engineering techniques, used to prevent soil erosion and stabilise steep cuts and embankments, have allowed engineers to successfully widen the M1 motorway in the UK. Over the 50km length of the work (25km northbound, 25km southbound) on a busy section of the motorway near the city of Nottingham, a total of 48km of slopes had to be modified, split roughly between cutting and embankment. The UK Highways Agency requirements for the work meant that wholesale widening of the corridor was not possible: the
