Hamm is offering versatile compaction recycling capabilities
A novel variant of 228 Hamm’s H i-series of soil compactors is now being offered for concrete road recycling applications. The H 25i VC model is a single-drum roller featuring a special drum that can be used to break up old concrete surfaces, with the broken material then being suitable for recycling in mobile crushing and screening equipment located nearby. The machine is offered with specially designed teeth that are said to break up worn concrete surfaces more effectively than special-purpose guillotine, finger or ultrasonic concrete breakers. The teeth are interchangeable, so that customers can better suit the machine to a specific application or surface type.

Also new from Hamm is its Compact Line HD 12 VO, a highly versatile unit that features both oscillation and vibration compaction options. This is first time these features have been available on a compact roller. The oscillation feature provides an alternative to conventional compaction with vibration and a key feature is its ability to minimise the transmission of resonance to surrounding structures. The oscillation type compactors can be used on bridge decks without risk of structural issues arising from tertiary harmonic frequencies and the machines are also suitable for use in urban areas, where there may be sensitive equipment nearby, or close to historic buildings as they will not cause damage.
