Speaking at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 in Las Vegas, U.S. (7-11 March), Tim Monroe, the Northern Ireland-based firm’s marketing director, said Smiley Monroe was forecasting growth of 5-10% in 2017, off the back of rising sales across its wide product range, particularly in North America and Europe.

During the big Las Vegas showpiece event, the world’s largest construction, quarrying and mining equipment showcase in 2017, Smiley Monroe (Smiley) saw particularly strong interest in its ZIP CLIP and ‘Endless’ conveyor belts.

The ZIP CLIP was developed primarily for the aftermarket of Smiley’s crushing, screening & recycling Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs) customers. These include Metso, Sandvik, the Terex brands Powerscreen, Terex Finlay, and Terex Minerals Processing Systems, Keestrack and McCloskey International.

At CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017, Monroe stressed how by keeping a ZIP CLIP belt in stock, ready to replace your hardest working belt, construction, quarrying and mining customers can avoid costly downtime and get back up and running quickly in a breakdown situation.

“This is an example of how we are filling a gap, as OEMs don’t have a replacement belt offer for the aftermarket,” explained Monroe.

Smiley is renowned globally for the production of hot-spliced Endless conveyor belts for the mobile crushing, screening and recycling sector.

“We can produce large volumes of these belts while retaining an advantage on price and quality,” said Monroe.

Monroe stressed how Smiley’s product quality was underpinned by the company’s ongoing investment in the latest technology, in-house belt testing labs and product and process development.

“The new hub will include the latest rubber cutting technology and is an exciting development for the company,” he added.

Every hot spliced belt is covered by a 12 month warranty and is branded with its own unique Smiley Monroe quality identification number, which corresponds with barcoded information electronically captured during the entire production process.

Manufactured in Smiley’s purpose-built production facility under controlled conditions and customised to suit your application, the company’s Endless conveyor belts are said to offer both superior quality and lower cost than open belts mounted and vulcanised in situ.
