With the Develon transparent bucket function, the driver can easily check the blind spots in front of the wheeled loader’s bucket via the cab monitor

Develon’s Transparent Bucket safety system gets rid of a wheeled loader operator’s blind spots.

For years, the area in front of wheeled loaders has been considered an area of major concern in terms of safety. With the Develon transparent bucket function, however, the driver can easily check the blind spots in front of the bucket via the cab monitor, to increase safety and prevent accidents.

The new version of the system - Transparent Bucket 2.0 - has all of the functionality of the original system, but now offers Object Detection (OD) and Object Recognition. The OD function again uses AI technology to synthesise a red triangular exclamation mark in the centre of the object and display it on the monitor alerting the driver when an object is detected.

GKD Technologies has introduced a link for 'intelligent workwear' to its proximity monitoring system. High viz vests or other workwear fitted with the link will display flashing lights and sound an audible alarm when the company's SensorZone system detects the wearer is in a danger zone. SensorZone comprises a sensor system that detects the presence of workers near a vehicle and activates an alarm beacon, and transmits a warning to vibrating tags fitted to the workers' helmets.

  • Construction adapting with Machine control Technologies

Machine control technologies are revolutionising construction – Dan Gilkes writes Electronic control of engines, transmissions and hydraulic systems, primarily to reduce exhaust emissions and boost productivity, is also providing manufacturers with an opportunity to incorporate increasingly complex machine control into their equipment. This in turn has the potential to make the machinery more productive, further cutting fuel consumption as part of a virtuous operational circle.
