RCC application for Ammann paver

By MJ Woof April 29, 2025 Read time: 1 min
A tamper bar type paver from Ammann will be used for RCC paving in the US

Ammann is supplying a customer in the US with a European style tamper bar paver for use in RCC duties. The machine features a fixed screed allowing widths of up to 12m. However, the screed does not feature a heating system as this is not required for the RCC application.

According to Ammann, the use of a tamper bar screed offers strong potential in RCC works as the compaction the system delivers helps to ensure a quality surface and material density even before rollers are brought in to complete the compaction process.

Ammann also says that the special hardened steels used for the tamper bars on its screeds also ensures extended wear life for the RCC application, which features the use of abrasive materials.
