The sophisticated Weiss-Electronic MC2014SE offers accurate speed detection and measurement at up to 300 km/h. But unlike competing speed detection packages it also offers vehicle classification capabilities. This system can tell whether the vehicle is a truck or a car, taking into consideration the different maximum speeds allowed for varying vehicle types. The system has been homologated for use already in countries such as Germany, Italy and Argentina. An OEM version MC2014SE/AS has also been developed for Italian motorway operator Autostrade.

The average speeds between two measurement points are evaluated and the details of vehicles within the speed limit are discarded automatically. The system also works for speed limits related to weather, and two as well as four-wheeled vehicles.
