2991 Powerscreen is set to introduce a wide number of eye-catching new crushing and screening plants onto the global market over the next 12 months.

The Northern Ireland-headquartered Terex brand is at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 showcasing its Premiertrak 600 jaw crusher, Warrior 600 screen and Warrior 2400 screen. These, when combined, offer a comprehensive demonstration of the versatility of the Powerscreen portfolio.

Meanwhile, Powerscreen product manager Joe Cassidy has given DailyNews an insight into the impressive model line-up set to hit the market over the next 12 months.

“We’ve got the next generation Premiertrak 300 and 400 jaw crushers coming soon, along with the Trakpactor 550 and Trakpactor 550SR impact crushers, the latter being an update on our successful flagship impactor, the Trakpactor 500,” he began.

“On the screening side of the business we have recently launched the Warrior 1200, the latest addition of the most extensive scalping range in the market. We continue to test other innovative incline screens that will offer customers a solution for most applications.”

“We’ve had a lot of success with the double screenbox Chieftain 2200 2 deck and 3 deck models since their launch. They offer optimum performance with even the tightest aggregate specs and have a revolutionary patent pending drive system which allows switching between 2 bearing and 4 bearing within a very short timeframe. It is well suited to both the US rental and direct sale market.”

Focusing on the Premiertrak 400X jaw crusher, Cassidy said: “It has been one of the strongest machines in the Powerscreen range. The new Premiertrak 400X builds on that legacy and further improves ease of use, maintenance, serviceability and onsite safety.  Centralised hydraulics and electrics, increased access around the power unit and service areas, ground-level hydraulic folding hopper flares and a main conveyor that can lower to service levels allowing a user to set the machine up quicker and complete maintenance tasks in record time.”

Cassidy said that part of the week in Las Vegas would be spent on promoting the Powerscreen Pulse telematics tool. This remotely monitors Powerscreen crushers and screens and provides accurate and live up-to-date information on the performance of the machine direct to a PC, tablet or smartphone.
“The technology gives the owner and operator a review of fuel usage, production and visibility of system alerts which helps them, and the Powerscreen distributor, plan scheduled maintenance and wear part requirements, preventative maintenance and cost per tonne calculations. This will have the power to revolutionise our customers’ operations - when reviewed and used correctly it will increase the life cycle of the Powerscreen plant.”

Commenting on the current state of the US market, Gerald McCarthy, Powerscreen North American sales manager, said: “With the proposed infrastructure spending in the USA there is massive positivity out there which is driving the business.”

He continued: “Our extensive, experienced and knowledgeable dealer network is ramping up, ensuring they have the right machines and parts available to serve the market place. Attractive finance packages and the overall mood in the industry is encouraging clients to buy and hire our equipment to fulfil contracts as quickly as possible so they can move on to the next job.”
