Doosan’s new excavator offers extra power for less emissions
695 Doosan says that its new DX225LC excavator offers increased performance and a lower environmental impact than for the previous model. The machine features an array of performance upgrades, with a key feature being its Tier 4 Interim compliant diesel. Power for the new DX225LC-3 comes from a six cylinder Doosan DL06K water-cooled diesel that features cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR), a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and a diesel particulate filter (DPF). While power output has been increased, fuel consumption and emissions have been reduced. Efficiency is further increased due to its electronic power optimising system (EPOS), which is said to provide optimum power and fuel efficiency through its four power modes. These include the Power + mode and auto-idle and machine diagnostics tools. The machine also has four work modes; digging, breaking, lifting; high shear. These modes allow operators to boost efficiency and fuel economy in specific applications.

The 124kW DX225LC-3 has an operating weight of 22.5tonnes with its standard boom, arm and 0.94m3 bucket. In comparison, the optional DX225LC-3 SLR (super-long reach) configuration provides operators with additional reach at ground level and has an operating weight of 24.75tonnes.
The DX225LC-3 features an Intelligent Floating Boom option that allows the boom of the excavator to float up and down without hydraulic flow. A temporary reset button provides the ability to momentarily disengage the float mode, permitting hydraulic flow to activate the boom.

The cab has a durable Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS) structure, better visibility and reduced vibration, as well as a colour LCD monitor that displays a variety of machine information, including operation history, flow rate control and filter/oil status.
