Perkins extends high power engine range

Perkins used CONEXPO-CON/AGG to roll out an extended industrial engine range for North American customers. It means the line-up extends beyond the previous 7litre flagship, as it reveals a large engine platform comprising 9.3, 12.5, 15.2 and 18.1litre capacities.

Engines up to 597kW are now available from Perkins

299 Perkins used CONEXPO-CON/AGG to roll out an extended industrial engine range for North American customers.

It means the line-up extends beyond the previous 7litre flagship, as it reveals a large engine platform comprising 9.3, 12.5, 15.2 and 18.1litre capacities.

Power outputs across the large engine platform extend from 225-597kW in Tier 4 Final/Stage 5 trim. This new range also lets Perkins adapt after-treatment packages and engine control software to meet regional market emissions for Latin America, China and Russia, in addition to Europe and the US.

    UK highway maintenance contractor Ringway has expanded its ABG paver fleet to 15 in all, with the addition of another Volvo 6870 wheeled paver. The ABG6870 is the latest in a long line of ABG machines to be used by Ringway, which also has a number of 273 and 473 machines.     In 2016, German manufacturers of construction equipment achieved a turnover of €9.3 billion, an increase of 3% compared to 2015. Of note though is that the same period, global sales of construction equipment declined by 1%. German companies managed to perform better than the world market and develop market share.
