Rammer’s 4099 PRO breaker is designed for extreme duty applications such as tunnelling
325 Sandvik launched a new hydraulic hammer under its 5076 Rammer brand at bauma 2014 in Shanghai, China. The 3,750kg Rammer 4099 PRO is designed for carriers in the 34-55 tonne weight class.

Based on the field-proven Rammer 4099 the new model is for extreme operating conditions such as underground. It has a sealed housing to prevent ingestion of dust and dirt so prolonging the life of the hammer and tool. There are sealed through apertures for hydraulic hoses, water, air and grease.

It has been designed with horizontal working in mind and so features a sturdy housing design, fully supported power cell, high resistant wear plates, and top buffer design.

To aid tunnelling applications the Rammer 4099 PRO is available with the AGW Unit. This consists of systems to protect the hammer and lower operating costs. The Ramair air flush system prevents potentially harmful dust ingress. The Ramlube I system ensures consistent and thorough lubrication. To minimise dust during breaking there is the Water Jet package. The AGM unit is hydraulically actuated and doesn't require an additional power source.

Impact rate on long strokes is 360-560bpm and on short strokes 540-670bpm. Operating pressure is 135-145 bar and tool diameter is 166mm.

Atlas Copco’s new MB 1650 hydraulic breaker is lighter and more compact than its predecessor, the MB 1700, yet it gives the same high performance. According to the manufacturer, the MB 1650 weighs in at 1,650k and is suitable for carriers in the weight class 19-32tonnes. A redesigned service window offers greater accessibility and thus makes the attachment more maintenance friendly. With no high-pressure accumulator, the MB 1650´s maintenance and repair costs are lower, said Atlas.
