More mini excavator options from Yanmar

Tweaks to Yanmar’s mini excavator range has seen the firm introduce a new 2.5tonne ViO model and offer an angle blade option on its larger 3.5tonne ViO35-6, to increase its versatility. Yanmar’s ViO25-6 is an all-new model aimed at landscape contractors and rental customers, defined by its 2.5tonne operating weight that makes the mini excavator trailer-friendly for transport, without needing a CDL or large goods vehicle driving licence, said the company.

Tweaks to 7139 Yanmar’s mini excavator range has seen the firm introduce a new 2.5tonne ViO model and offer an angle blade option on its larger 3.5tonne ViO35-6, to increase its versatility.

Yanmar’s ViO25-6 is an all-new model aimed at landscape contractors and rental customers, defined by its 2.5tonne operating weight that makes the mini excavator trailer-friendly for transport, without needing a CDL or large goods vehicle driving licence, said the company.

The zero tail swing machine meets Tier 4 Final emissions standards, using a 15kW three-cylinder Yanmar engine. Available in cab or canopy versions, the ViO25-6 uses joystick pilot Controls, auxiliary proportional Controls, and comes with a quick hitch.

    Caterpillar’s seventh generation 988 wheeled loader – the 988K – is powered by a Tier 4 Final/Stage IV Cat C18 ACERT diesel engine, featuring selective catalytic reduction and delivering 362kW. The engine is said to deliver a 20% fuel efficiency benefit compared to the 988H, thanks in part to an ECO mode with on-demand throttle, auto idle and engine idle kickdown/auto resume system. The 50tonne machine moves away from its predecessor’s monoboom loader arm design in favour of a Z-bar linkage.
