A safer bet: Tiltrotator’s R2 tiltrotator and the S40 coupler

Optimising excavator use is what 8347 Rototilt’s latest tiltrotator - the R2 - is all about.

The Swedish company says that the R2, being launched at Intermat, is based on the Rototilt R product platform and replaces the RT20B. The R2 has new smart features with Innovative Control System (ICS) and SecureLock.

Rototilt says that it listened carefully to what its customers needed in an upgraded tiltrotator. The result is the R2 with a significantly higher breakout torque - 12% higher - allowing double the flow rate for extra functionality and it fits larger excavators in the 3-6.5 tonne range.

Rototilt’s Control System allows operators to have easier adjustment options and a better overview of the tiltrotator system. Also, with an eye towards safety, there is Rototilt’s SecureLock system for tool changes.

Together with the recently launched quick couplers S40, S45 and S50, the R2 operators can now get all their information from one display.

Rototilt has made the frame of the quick couplers from durable quenched and hardened cast steel with a broad contact surface. A powerful locking wedge construction provides a quick coupler entirely free of play, with few and well-protected components. In addition, all hydraulic couplings are ORFS couplings, which minimises the risk of leakage.

Also, the risk of oscillating or dropped equipment is eliminated because the SecureLock function is integrated into the quick coupler and is easily combined with the SecureLock function in the tiltrotator.
