Montabert develops versatile drill for utility machines

Montabert has designed its novel Micro CPA drilling attachment for use with a number of utility machines such as backhoe loaders, compact excavators, and skid-steer loaders. The firm offers the H22 and H25 variants, which are single-pass drills with a feed rotation of 45° from vertical. They can be used to drill holes with diameters from 25.4mm-44.45mm and 31.75mm-76.2mm respectively, with maximum hole lengths of 6.1m and 9.1m. Both models can be mounted to carriers in the 5-10tonne range.

Both models can be mounted to carriers in the 5-10tonne range.

The Micro CPA 360 R25/R32 drilling attachments are equipped with 360° rotation, allowing the operator to adjust from vertical, to overhead, to horizontal drilling. The R25/R32 provides a 44.45mm-76.2mm hole diameter, with maximum hole lengths of 9.1m and can be mounted to carriers in the 8-15tonne range.

All Micro CPA drilling attachments feature a proven, high performance Montabert Drifter as well as radio remote control capabilities. This last allows the drilling attachment to be operated from outside the cab of the carrier and eliminating potential carrier connection issues. An optional dust collector, with high suction capacity or a water injection system, is available to reduce the dust escape.

In addition to requiring less initial investment than their conventional drilling counterparts, the Micro CPA drilling attachments offer the versatility of being quickly exchanged for other attachments within minutes and are easy to transport between jobsites.

MOBA continues to develop its novel MDS-2000 drilling system. This package has already proven itself in use for blast hole drilling in many operations and can now be used to record the orientation of the machine with GNSS antennae and the height using laser reference. With telesupport, MOBA also offers fast service through an Internet connection. By recording the machine orientation using two GNSS antennae, the torsion on the machine can be determined with very high accuracy and included in the calculation
