As a result, contractors can optimise their work and verify the quality of the paving process. With the system’s intelligent temperature scanner, the system measures the asphalt temperature over the whole paving width of up to eight metres. The temperature profile is displayed in real-time on the display and the operator can react at any time if irregularities occur. All information is saved for documentation and can be used as quality proof.

With the Xsite product line MOBA provides comprehensive excavator systems. For getting started with automation, the economical Xsite EASY system offers diverse 2D functionalities. Xsite LINK provides additional basic 3D functionalities and for complex requirements, and Xsite PRO, with its extensive 3D functionalities is the ideal system for performing large-scale projects. Should service be necessary, telesupport via internet connection offers quick help without a service technician needing to visit the construction site. The modular structure allows an upgrade of each system within the Xsite line at any time.

With the new 3D-matic, MOBA offers a precise and flexible 3D levelling system that increases efficiency in machine use and contributes to fast and precise project execution. The system is optimised for graders, dozers and blades and it can also be used as a 2D system. The compact ‘2 in 1’ controller combines 2D and 3D computers in a single housing. The display and sensors are also designed for use in 3D and 2D applications. MOBA 3D-matic offers simple menu navigation and a clearly arranged, 7 inch, touch-screen display.

For the first time at Conexpo, MOBA is showing a selection of its platform products. These sensors, controllers and HMIs can be integrated easily into all types of existing systems, whether within construction machine automation or safety systems on aerial work platforms. According to the ‘building block’ principle, the freely-programmable components can be individually controlled with CAN technology and combined in any way.

With the MCA-2000 roller system, optimised material compaction can be achieved in the construction of roads and 2399 Tarmac surfaced areas. The system determines the machine’s GPS position. With this data, it records the number of roller passes during the entire project and reconciles target and actual passes. Additionally, the system measures the asphalt’s temperature at the time of rolling. This allows an overview over the compaction and permits the production of a homogeneously compacted material, preventing future road damage. All data is shown at the display can be transferred via USB stick or directly to a web server.

Elliott Equipment unveiled a “two-in-one” long-reach aerial at Conexpo 2014 on Thursday. The E160 e-line material handling aerial work platform features a 64m working height, high-capacity work platform and a seated rotating control station mounted on a commercial truck or track vehicle carrier. “It’s a material handling, aerial platform,” said David Phillips, manager of global business development and marketing at Elliott. “It’s a two-in-one solution.” The aerial is designed for utility and construction
  • Transtec and FHWA release Intelligent Compaction Measurement paper
    February 23, 2018
Intelligent Compaction Measurement Values – ICMV – can be difficult to understand. What’s more, there is a lack of systematic and comprehensive documents explaining ICMV. For these reasons, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and pavement engineering firm Transtec Group have released a technical brief to demystify ICMV. ICMV is a generic term for advanced measurement systems instrumented on vibratory rollers as a key components of intelligent compaction (IC) systems. It is based on the acceleration
  • INTERMAT launch for Cat CD44B compactor
    January 6, 2017
Cat has revised its asphalt compactor range with Stage IIIb engines, revised drum options and a new cab layout. The changes also bring an all-new model – the CD44B – in the seven/eight tonne class, taking the model count to four. A revised cab now gives better sightlines to the drum edges and while the lateral side-shift for the operator’s seat has been retained, the previous 180-degree rotation is now extended to 360-degree rotation, giving the operator more freedom
