Mining truck and port handling tyres launched by BKT

BKT is increasing its presence in the heavy mining business and in the port handling sector. Large rigid truck tyres include the SR45 Plus, a 27.00R49 steel radial in an E4 earthmoving pattern. The tyre incorporates a self-cleaning tread pattern that is said to minimise noise and vibration in operation. BKT is also adding the SR47 to the line-up, in both 18.00R33 and 24.00R35 sizes, again with an E4 tread pattern.

BKT’s new heavy duty tyres offer increased life
7297 BKT is increasing its presence in the heavy mining business and in the port handling sector.

In the port materials handling sector BKT is introducing a range of tyres for reach stackers, straddle carriers and larger industrial forklift trucks. While the construction market remains stable, BKT sees big potential for growth in the port handling market and, with that in mind, later this year will launch two port tractor tyres.

IROCK says that its RDS-15 mobile crusher suits duties in recycled asphalt applications. This horizontal impact crushing plant is said to be highly mobile and versatile. The rapid deployment system (RDS) the firm has developed is said to increase transportability from site to site and cut set-up times when the equipment arrives on-site. The RDS-15 is said to be ideal for processing smaller materials such as reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP). Versatile and compact, this crushing and screening system provid
  • Surface quality a key trend in asphalt paving

Improved surface quality and improved machine design are key trends in the asphalt paving sector, Mike Woof reports There is a big difference in asphalt paving techniques in North America and Europe. In North America, the need to construct long stretches of highway quickly resulted in wide pavers offering high throughput capacity, with compaction equipment then being used to achieve the required density of the various courses. In Europe's highway construction projects, distances tend to be shorter and contr

The mini and midi excavator sector continues to squeeze more out of less, with some innovative engineering solutions being applied to zero- and short-tailswing models - Geoff Ashcroft investigates. It is a vicious circle - customers seek smaller, tighter, ever more compact excavators, leaving manufacturers with the challenges of squeezing greater levels of technology into what is all too often an even smaller machine.

Its incredible versatility means that the articulated dumptruck (ADT) has become a popular piece of equipment for quarrying or earthmoving applications. For quarrying in particular, the machines are highly useful as they are able to cope with steeper ramp hauls and tougher terrain than rigid haulers offering similar payloads.
