Metalgalante's new CARMIX 3500TC mobile mixer has probe that analyses concrete in the drum

The new CARMIX 3500TC mobile concrete mixer features a probe that will analyse the concrete in the drum. The real-time sensor on the probe measures slump, volume, temperature and humidity, and has a ready-mix indicator. This enables users to achieve the same quality of mix as a batching plant but on site, said Manuela Galante, marketing director of Metalgalante speaking on the company's stand at bauma.

CARMIX 3500TC with in-drum probe

The new 8074 CARMIX 3500TC mobile concrete mixer features a probe that will analyse the concrete in the drum. The real-time sensor on the probe measures slump, volume, temperature and humidity, and has a ready-mix indicator. This enables users to achieve the same quality of mix as a batching plant but on site, said Manuela Galante, marketing director of Metalgalante speaking on the company's stand at bauma.

The CARMIX 3500TC is the result of three years of research and development in conjunction with the company's customers, said Galante. The new machine features a new cab design with improved visibility and operator comfort. A single joystick operates all functions. The self-articulated hydraulic operating shovel enables more accurate loading of aggregates and cement. The drum has a capacity of 4,850 litres and can output 3.5m3 of concrete. Drum rotation is by hydraulic motor and planetary reducers. The mixing and discharging speeds are independent of the rpm of the diesel engine. The mixing unit slews hydraulically through 270 degrees for high discharge over 2m on the four sides of the vehicle.

The new machine is a challenge to the establisged mindset which does not believe that a mobile mixer can achieve the same quality of concrete as a batching plant, said Galante. Metalgalante is also celebrating its 40th anniversary at bauma.
