Manitou’s versatile new telehandlers offer wide capability range
French telehandling specialist 2106 Manitou has a variety of new machines on view, starting with a range of rough terrain machines grouped together under the M 26/30/42/50-2 series of badges. The range features a hydrostatic drive option and the units have been “especially designed” for tough operating conditions says the manufacturer with wide wheelbases, plenty of width, high ground clearances and a good turning radius. Powered by a 299 Perkins final Tier 4 55.5kW engine, the new range has a maximum lifting capacity 5 tonnes at 600 mm, along with a maximum lifting height of 7m.

Operators looking for simple-to-maintain rental machines will be interested in Manitou’s new MT 625 Easy telehandler, which is powered by a 36kW 1265 Kubota engine and uses the most straightforward options possible. The machines have alignment indicators for the front and rear wheels, automatic parking brakes, new exhaust diffusers, better rear visibility, no particle filters and are easy to transport says the manufacturer.

Elsewhere on the stand, take a look at the MRT 3255, which the company calls “the latest of the Manitou rotatives.” This novel telehandler features a load state controller that constantly analyses the load in space and restricts the zone of movement” and uses a new Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) system for greater simplicity. “Torque is optimised whatever the speed,” says Manitou. The MRT 3255 has 2 joysticks as standard, a recording system for controlling maximum movement speeds, an electric tilting seat to keep visibility of the attachments, cameras positioned at the rear or at the head of the boom and a high quality suspension system “for optimal comfort.”

Time is money, especially in Scandinavia where the short road construction season makes efficiency and flexibility a key factor for machines. That's particularly true on small job sites, where work has to be completed quickly but reliably day after day. As soon as the job is done, machines must be quickly loaded and ready to speed off to the next project. That’s exactly what the W 60 Ri small milling machine from Wirtgen delivers. Norwegian milling service provider Asfalt Remix - which uses exclusively W
