Manitou extends MRT Easy range

Manitou has extended its MRT Easy range of rotating telehandlers with the MRT2145. Sitting above the existing MRT1840 with its 18m, 4tonne lift, the new MRT2145 offers a maximum lift height of 21m, and a 4.5tonne lift capacity. The increased capacity, said Manitou, is a result of using a new design of stabiliser that offers a wider footprint but retains a compact design when folded.

MRT2145 offers a 21m lift height
2106 Manitou has extended its MRT Easy range of rotating telehandlers with the MRT2145.

The stabiliser design is a two-piece hinged construction. As the inner part of the leg is lowered hydraulically, a cable and spring mechanism is used to move the outer part into its working position. This extends the MRT2145’s footprint by 80cm in total – 40cm on each side of the machine – enhancing overall stability.

Manitou said the MRT2145 also gets a new design of boom that sees hose and cable routing inside the boom for greater protection and durability. Power for the machine comes from a 75kW Perkins engine, meeting EU Stage IIIB emissions regulations.

Caterpillar says its new Telehandlers - TH336C, TH337C, TH406C and TH407C - feature the company’s C4.4 ACERTTM engines that meet Stage IIIB emissions standard and are available in a 92.6kW (124 hp) or a 106kW (142hp) rating. The C4.4 engine is said by Cat to be designed and manufactured to ensure smooth, quiet operation and longevity. Fuel consumption is also said to be optimised to match the tasks, lowering operating costs. A larger, redesigned cooling package with a hydraulic reversing demand fan is also
  • Concrete competition
    February 13, 2012
The concrete paving market has provided stable ground for existing players, though key market developments are in hand. US manufacturers have long dominated the concrete paving sector with well-known firms such as GOMACO, Guntert & Zimmerman, Power Curbers, Power Pavers and Terex all being based in the US, while German firm Wirtgen is Europe's leading contender in this market. However there is some jostling for position in the concrete paving sector, with some of the players looking to enter new segments. T
  • Innovative earthmoving machines now coming to market
    October 14, 2015
Innovation in earthmoving machines will help users reduce running costs while boosting productivity - Mike Woof writes. The earthmoving equipment market is hotly contested and is one in which manufacturers compete hard to introduce machines with working advantages over rival models. This has fuelled strong competition in terms of machine performance and quality over the years, resulting in the development of high-performance equipment that is also reliable and long lasting. This is particularly true of the
  • Advancing asphalt plant technology

Advances in asphalt plant technology were in major evidence at the bauma 2016 exhibition in Munich - Mike Woof writes One of the most apparent developments at bauma 2016 was the strong focus on asphalt plant technology. The massive physical presence of the asphalt plants could be seen from a distance, right across the showground, particularly the 50m-high machine Benninghoven had opted to exhibit. However, other plant systems from rival firms Ammann, Lintec and Marini, as well as Turkish company E-MAK, c
