Long commute

A massive traffic jam was the result in Delhi following the closure of a toll station on the NH-8 highway connecting with Gurgaon. Up to 26 lanes of traffic ground to a halt when the jam hit its peak, with vehicles stalled along the route in either direction. The cause of the problem was the removal of a 32 lane tolling plaza. Rather than cutting congestion as expected, removing the toll plaza resulted in the jam appearing elsewhere along the highway.
