The new 856H wheeled loader from LiuGong offers improved performance and novel features such as the grab-rail around the top of the cab
269 LiuGong is introducing two advanced new wheeled loaders to meet demands for highly competitive classes, the 856H as well as the firm’s biggest ever wheeled loader, the CLG8128H. The 856H is one of the firm’s latest generation H-series machines, featuring increased performance and a whole host of other improvements such as better all-round visibility and upgraded service access. This 17.2tonne machine is aimed at the market for wheeled loaders with 3m3 bucket capacity, one of the biggest selling machine classes in China. Power comes from a diesel delivering 162kW, with different engine options available to suit various emissions requirements of specific sales territories.

A highly noticeable feature of the 856H is the handrail fitted around the top of the cab, which serves as a grab-rail, particularly when the operator is getting into the machine. This rail also serves an additional purpose however as it is a useful mounting point for lighting equipment. Because it goes all around the top of the cab, it gives customers a wide range of mounting points for lights, as well as a similarly broad array of choices for lighting types.

Meanwhile the CLG8128H competes in the 50tonne weight class and features a 7m3 rock bucket. Rated load is 12tonnes, while breakout force is 360kN and the machine takes just 7.4seconds to lift its loader arms to the maximum dump height of 4.04tonnes. Aimed at the quarrying sector the CLG8128H is a key launch for LiuGong as it takes the firm into a new market segment in terms of capacity and performance. Zeng Guang’an, chairman of LiuGong Machinery and president of parent LiuGong Group explained, “In general, Chinese companies produce small to mid-sized machines. But LiuGong is now building bigger machines and targeting mining and quarrying. There are a smaller number of competitors like 178 Caterpillar or 2300 Komatsu but this is more profitable segment than the volume market. LiuGong is a strong company and we want to be a leading brand in the world.”
