Liebherr’s low emissions power systems

March 17, 2025 Read time: 1 min
Liebherr is introducing a range of low emission power solutions

Liebherr is unveiling an array of low emissions solutions for powering construction and extraction machinery. These include alternative fuels such as hydrogen and HVO, as well as electric systems. Some are ready for market now, while others are still in development however.

Available now is the new version of the Liduro Power Port (LPO) mobile energy storage system. Still being worked on, the company is unveiling its prototype LPO 600 stationary energy storage system. The firm says it is aiming to offer zero local emissions energy supply for construction sites, coupled with electric machinery. The LPO 600 mobile charging station has a gross energy content of 564kWh and can provide sufficient energy for large machines or fleets, even on sites without an electricity supply.

The firm is unveiling its first prototype large wheeled loader with a hydrogen engine, in addition to innovative solutions for mobile refuelling and a reliable supply of green hydrogen.

Other alternative drive technologies that Liebherr is researching include battery-operated and mains-operated electric solutions as well as alternative fuels, such as HVO and hydrogen or ammonia-based drives.
