LeeBoy is introducing a new generation of pavers

717 LeeBoy is introducing a line-up of four new asphalt pavers that all benefit from Tier 4 Final diesels at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017. Performance has been upgraded across the board, with the new generation Kubota engines offering increased power, lower emissions and reduced fuel consumption. According to the firm, the biggest change for the 8616C is the new engine - although it also benefits from an oscillating undercarriage for a smoother ride, electronic steering and revised controls.

The machine has an 83kW diesel and is equipped with an electric heavy-duty Legend 815 screed offering paving widths from 2.4-4.5m, while it features a narrow conveyor hopper design.

The same revised control layout is fitted to the 8520E paver, with power from a 107kW Kubota diesel. The machine has a wide conveyor system that allows a steady material flow in tight paving conditions and is equipped with a heavy-duty Legend 815 screed offering paving widths from 2.4-4.5m.

A similar wide conveyor layout is fitted to the 8515E paver -  which also benefits from the same type of screed and control system – and its engine has been lowered in the chassis by 127mm, improving all round visibility. The 6150 meanwhile is an upgrade of a former Blaw Knox design, with a Legend screed, added cut-offs and the same new controls as on the other machines in the line-up, as well as power from a 55kW Kubota diesel and the firm’s narrow hopper conveyor.

A growing niche market for roller compacted concrete has prompted manufacturers to offer solutions. Mike Woof reports. Increased demand for roller compacted concrete (RCC) machines in certain applications mean that this is now a growing market, with manufacturers having developed new machines for this sector. RCC comprises uncrushed and/or crushed aggregate, hydraulic binders and may also contain concrete additives. It is mixed in a concrete mixing plant on or near the job site and one of its main benefits

Well known in the compaction field, BOMAG continues to raise its profile in the paving sector with the launch of another new machine, the BF300 paver. This model replaces the earlier Marini-developed BF331 and is said to be a combination of the best German and Italian engineering as well as sharing some features with the BF600 series launched by BOMAG during last year. Developed for the 7-8tonne class the BF300 is versatile and manoeuvrable and has a transport width of just 2.5m, even including its mounted
