Kobelco is now offering two new top-of-the-range excavators for the 50tonne class

Kobelco's all-new SK500LC-11 and larger SK530LC-11 are said to offer high speed and performance, improved reliability and maintenance, state-of-the-art ergonomics and design, and are also Stage V-compliant.

Weighing over 50tonnes, the SK500LC-11’s turbocharged, Stage V-compliant 13litre Hino engine delivers high output and low emissions. The SK500LC-11’s cycle time is 5.1% shorter than the earlier SK500LC-10, while fuel consumption has improved by 5.4% and productivity has been increased by 6.2%.

The SK500LC-11 is suited to general construction while the SK530LC-11 is aimed at general construction and quarrying. Lifting capability and stability are of particular importance. The SK500LC-11 has a higher operating weight of 50.4tonnes compared with the previous SK500LC-10, boosting stability. Both the SK500LC-11 and SK530LC-11 benefit from high hydraulic pressures for greater lifting power at close radius. The machines are also said to have high lifting performance compared to competing machines, particularly at a working radius of up to 9m over the side. The SK530LC-11 has an operating weight of 53tonnes and features an adjustable undercarriage, while when retracted, the overall width allows better transportability, particularly in mountainous regions where the roads may be narrow.

The machines benefit from a new cabin and improved ergonomics. Visibility is provided by three standard cameras located on the left, right and rear sides of the machine, allowing the operator to customise viewing needs.

Both the SK500LC-11 and SK530LC-11 models are available with standard boom and three arm variations, or as a mass excavation model with a short boom and short arm.
