Upgrades to Kobelco Construction Machinery’s Blade Runner, the ED160BR-5, have focussed on revised blade construction and improved track motors. The ED160BR-5 is based on the firm’s short-radius 14tonner, the SK140SRLC. It uses a six-way PAT blade (power, angle, tilt) and gives the 16tonne Blade Runner the pushing performance of a nine-tonne class dozer. The blade’s 3.26m working width is supplied with folding wings, reducing the overall width of the machine to 2.46m for transport.
