Blade Runner gets improved track motors and a redesigned six-way blade.
Upgrades to 2200 Kobelco Construction Machinery’s Blade Runner, the ED160BR-5, have focussed on revised blade construction and improved track motors.
The ED160BR-5 is based on the firm’s short-radius 14tonner, the SK140SRLC. It uses a six-way PAT blade (power, angle, tilt) and gives the 16tonne Blade Runner the pushing performance of a nine-tonne class dozer.
The blade’s 3.26m working width is supplied with folding wings, reducing the overall width of the machine to 2.46m for transport. Power for the ED160BR-5 comes from a 78kW Isuzu engine.
Versatility is the key feature of Kobelco’s new SK380SRLC-7 excavator, with its short tailswing design allowing operation in restricted space areas. Operating weight varies from 36.8-39.4tonnes depending on the specification and the machine is powered by an Isuzu diesel delivering 210kW that meets Tier 4 Final/Stage V emissions requirements.
Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe (KCME) says the SK210HLC-10 is a “revolutionary hybrid [excavator] that delivers the future today”. Demand for construction machines is now improving in China once more, with the backlog of unsold or nearly new secondhand units having been absorbed. This was apparent at the recent BICES construction machinery exhibition held in Beijing, where firms were more bullish than in previous years.
Increased performance is claimed for Kobelco’s SK520LC-11E excavator, which is now being offered in two variants.
The standard model is the SK520LC-11E model, however there is also the new SK520LC-11E Mass Excavation variant, for specific application needs. Both models weigh from 52.9-57.2tonnes, depending on specification and have power from a six-cylinder Isuzu diesel rated at 348kW that meets Tier 4 Final/Stage V emissions requirements.
