Innovative family-owned Belgian crushing and screening equipment manufacturer 2992 Keestrack has staged the world premiere of its R3e track-mounted impact crusher.

The fully-hybrid version of the now four-year-old and proven diesel hydraulic R3 model, the R3e impact crusher is said to offer 20% more productivity than the R3. The easy to transport, compact model is also claimed to offer a near 30% reduction in fuel costs than the original R3 when run in diesel-electric drive mode, rising to around 70% if the model is fully powered off mains electricity.

The highly mobile impact crusher is suited to a broad range of applications, from short-term construction site operations to flexible semi-stationary production in medium-sized recycling and production companies.

Featuring a new and modern eye-catching design, the R3e and redesigned R3, which offers the same 20% productivity gains as the R3e, are said to offer fast loading and short set-up times on site. They also feature a high level of mobility thanks to a support-less frame construction and rugged undercarriage track frame. Extensive coverings and wide-opening doors and flaps offer easy accessibility to all operational components and satisfy the requirements for operational reliability and maintainability.

They are powered by a 235kW EU Stage 4 Volvo diesel engine (option: EU Stage 3A; 260kW) and 300 kVA generator as the on-board energy source. At the heart of the R3e and redesigned R3 is the high-performance impact crusher 48 ICR 100-00 with a large 770 x 960mm inlet opening, and claimed crushing efficiency up to 250 tonnes per hour via a heavy-duty 920mm rotor (diameter: 1100 mm, 3.2tonnes) and high rotor speeds. Specially-adapted crushing tools, a wide adjustment range for both impact aprons (milling beam is optional) and a sophisticated overload system are said to safeguard a broad range of applications, from concrete recycling with intensive wear to the production of high-quality natural stone grains.

The R3e and redesigned R3’s new optional single-deck afterscreening unit offers almost 4.4m², corresponding to around 30 % more screening area than the previous model, thereby considerably optimising machine performance in the production of high-grade final grains.

Shortly before Intermat 2018 Paris, the R3e received the prestigious international Red Dot Award 2018 design prize in the Industrial equipment, Machines and Automation category.
