7058 Jewson Tool Hire has purchased 40 new JCB VMT160-80 tandem vibratory rollers - joining 80 existing models to create what is claimed to be the largest fleet of JCB Vibromax compaction equipment worldwide.

A core service from one of the UK’s leading builder’s merchants, Jewson Tool Hire’s (JTH) newly topped-up 120 roller rental fleet takes the total number of 255 JCB machines owned by JTH to over 500.

This includes several significant orders for JCB mini and micro excavators. All of the machines are available to trade and domestic customers from JTH’s 250 nationwide branches.

JTH director Richard Pedersen said: “We are extremely proud to have built up the largest fleet of JCB Vibromax rollers in the world and it is a clear reflection of both our rapid growth as a business and the popularity of the models themselves.

“Our customers recognise the JCB brand and love the fact they can now get rollers at Jewson – often hiring them alongside a JCB excavator and 5451 Thwaites dumper as a complete package for surfacing jobs. For a relatively new machine to our fleet we are extremely happy and impressed with the performance and utilisation figures.

“There were a number of reasons we chose JCB: reliability, a proven track record, competitive pricing, and a strong after sales service from our dealer Gunn JCB with whom we have an excellent relationship.”

Powered by a 17kW three-cylinder water-cooled engine, the VMT160-80 tandem vibratory rollers feature a 45litre diesel tank, said to be almost twice the size of competitive models, enabling the machines to work continuously for longer. Tool and plant hire customers are said by JTH to be getting a whole day’s extra usage out of the new machine ranges compared to other makes.
