7749 JAI, a leading manufacturer of vehicle imaging systems and components, exhibited its VISCAM 1000 system at 244 Intertraffic in Amsterdam. The new high resolution all-in-one imaging system for video tolling, tolling enforcement, congestion charging, red light and speed enforcement, is said to incorporate the latest high performance video triggering technology, light sensing, dynamic range control, and other technologies designed to maximise the quality of the images produced for automated number plate reading (ANPR).

During Intertraffic, held 25-28 March 2014, JAI also displayed its wide range of CCD/CMOS traffic camera components for integration into third-party traffic vision systems. New are the Spark SP-5000 colour and monochrome cameras built around 5 megapixel CMOS sensors. The Spark cameras incorporate a range of features such as automatic level control, built-in high dynamic range mode, P-iris control and extended temperature rating, making them ideal in harsh outdoor climates and traffic scenes with changing light conditions. Other camera components on display are JAI´s popular 8 megapixel traffic camera - the AB-800GE - and the new high sensitivity camera – the Elite EL-2800 with a 2.8 megapixel CCD sensor.

Also new and on display in Amsterdam were a range of JAI´s LED flash/strobe illuminators available with white light, blue light or near infrared flash light all designed for illumination of traffic scenes in connection with electronic tolling, red light and speed enforcement, and many other ITS applications. The new flash units can be easily integrated with JAI’s VISCAM line of vehicle imaging systems, as well as third-party ITS systems needing a high performance and cost-efficient lighting solution.
