Radiodetection is widening its range of tools for utility firms
Pipe and cable detector specialist 2537 Radiodetection is widening its product range with the introduction of a new line of leak detectors. The new acoustic leak detectors are said to be easy-to-use, affordable and portable and can be used along with the proven RD7000+ and RD8000 range of cable and pipe locators. The new RD52x family of wireless noise loggers can be used to monitor extensive and complex water networks, without the need for digging up roads. The units combine the latest digital and acoustic technology and are said to make it easy to monitor and repair vital water supplies. With van-mounted wireless data receivers, Radiodetection wireless noise loggers can aid in mobile inspection of drainage systems underneath roads. The RD533 leak noise correlator can detect water leaks and trace pipeline topography, by analysing audio frequencies within water pipes to detect the characteristic noises caused by leaks. In addition Radiodetection is introducing the RD560 water leak gas trace locator. This product can pinpoint leaks long before these become problematic.

A wide variety of products are available to help bridge owners reduce the need for costly repairs. Bridges are one of the most expensive structures on a highway system, and their maintenance, and where necessary, repair will save millions over time. Prevention being better than cure means that anything that can be done to reduce the need for repair is a good investment. For example, a MOOG bucket-type inspection unit has been commissioned for the Naini Bridge in Allahabad in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Indi
