Hyundai reveals its latest low emission wheeled loader

196 Cummins QSB6.7 diesel that delivers 116kW and meets Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions requirements. The diesel has advanced electronic Controls and a self-diagnostic system, as well as a high pressure common rail system and advanced in-cylinder combustion technology. This offers increased power, improved transient response and reduced fuel consumption. The engine drives through a fully automatic transmission that the firm says is designed for maximum durability, minimum power loss, improved travel speed and low noise. It also has an improved clutch control and minimised shifting shock when operating. The HL740-9A model allows an operator to optimise power output, transmission, shift time and clutch cut-off activation to the job. Three engine power modes are available; power, standard and economy, as well as four transmission power shift modes; manual, light, normal and heavy.
Hyundai’s HL740-9A wheeled loader weighs in at 12.7tonnes, has a 2.35m3 bucket capacity as standard and is available in an extended reach (XTD) model, which tips the scales at 13tonnes. The loader is also available in a 13.3tonne tool carrier (TM) model with parallel lift.
Other improvements include better operator comfort and a larger, redesigned cab, as well as an LCD monitor that also operates as a rear-view backup camera for better safety onsite. Caterpillar has updated its hybrid crawler excavator, with the launch of the 336F H, incorporating Tier 4 Final power. The company claims that fuel savings of up to 30% are possible against the standard 336F excavator, despite the C9.3 engine achieving lower fuel consumption than the previous model. The engine has an automatic speed control system that lowers rpm during low load conditions. It also comes with an ECO mode that allows operators to tailor machine performance to the application.

The latest addition to Komatsu’s heavy duty crawler excavator range is the PC490, one of the new line-up of Dash 10 generation machines being introduced. The operator comfort and controls have been upgraded from the previous Dash 8, while six working modes allow the machine functions to be matched to the duty cycle for efficient working.
