Hyundai reveals its latest low emission wheeled loader

196 Cummins QSB6.7 diesel that delivers 116kW and meets Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions requirements. The diesel has advanced electronic Controls and a self-diagnostic system, as well as a high pressure common rail system and advanced in-cylinder combustion technology. This offers increased power, improved transient response and reduced fuel consumption. The engine drives through a fully automatic transmission that the firm says is designed for maximum durability, minimum power loss, improved travel speed and low noise. It also has an improved clutch control and minimised shifting shock when operating. The HL740-9A model allows an operator to optimise power output, transmission, shift time and clutch cut-off activation to the job. Three engine power modes are available; power, standard and economy, as well as four transmission power shift modes; manual, light, normal and heavy.
Hyundai’s HL740-9A wheeled loader weighs in at 12.7tonnes, has a 2.35m3 bucket capacity as standard and is available in an extended reach (XTD) model, which tips the scales at 13tonnes. The loader is also available in a 13.3tonne tool carrier (TM) model with parallel lift.
Other improvements include better operator comfort and a larger, redesigned cab, as well as an LCD monitor that also operates as a rear-view backup camera for better safety onsite. Bell Equipment is now introducing its novel E-series generation of haulers at Conexpo. The Bell E-series includes the smaller B25E and B30E models, which retain the firm’s high power to weight-ratios, as well as featuring advanced engine and drivetrain characteristics. These trucks are also said to set new standards in safety, driver comfort and truck management.
Claimed to offer up to 20% greater fuel efficiency than previous models, Caterpillar will be unveiling its 988K wheeled loader at bauma. The 988K, a complete upgrade of the H Series, meets the stringent European Union (EU) Stage IV/United States (U.S.) EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards. Another Cat wheeled loader being showcased at bauma is the 966K XE, equipped with an advanced powertrain system.
A key launch for Komatsu comes in the shape of its new Dash 11 series excavators, with the PC240LC-11 and PC490LC-11 both making their debut at Conexpo 2014. The PC240 weighs from 24.7-25tonnes depending on specification, with power from a 132kW diesel, while the PC490 weighs from 47.9-50tonnes depending on specification and is driven by a 268kW diesel.
