Hyundai reveals its latest low emission wheeled loader

196 Cummins QSB6.7 diesel that delivers 116kW and meets Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions requirements. The diesel has advanced electronic Controls and a self-diagnostic system, as well as a high pressure common rail system and advanced in-cylinder combustion technology. This offers increased power, improved transient response and reduced fuel consumption. The engine drives through a fully automatic transmission that the firm says is designed for maximum durability, minimum power loss, improved travel speed and low noise. It also has an improved clutch control and minimised shifting shock when operating. The HL740-9A model allows an operator to optimise power output, transmission, shift time and clutch cut-off activation to the job. Three engine power modes are available; power, standard and economy, as well as four transmission power shift modes; manual, light, normal and heavy.
Hyundai’s HL740-9A wheeled loader weighs in at 12.7tonnes, has a 2.35m3 bucket capacity as standard and is available in an extended reach (XTD) model, which tips the scales at 13tonnes. The loader is also available in a 13.3tonne tool carrier (TM) model with parallel lift.
Other improvements include better operator comfort and a larger, redesigned cab, as well as an LCD monitor that also operates as a rear-view backup camera for better safety onsite. Sandvik Mining is now using Volvo Penta engines in its underground trucks and loaders. The advanced engines meet Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emission standards and are claimed to reduce fuel and ventilation costs in comparison with other units. The Volvo Penta engineers designed a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) unit in the exhaust system that converts NOx gas into nitrogen and water. The Volvo Penta exhaust-treatment solution also reduces DPM levels without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF).
Latest Volvo wheeled loaders to get the G-series revisions include the middle-weight 11-17 tonne L60, L70 and L90 versions. The stylish overhaul brings an electrically operated sloping bonnet, improving rearward visibility. All benefit from a revised cab layout, cleaner engines and improved hydraulic systems to deliver more productivity and greater efficiency. Power ratings are from 121-130kW, with all three sharing a stage IIIB six-cylinder Volvo D6H motor that gets cooled EGR and DPF emissions equipment.

Hydrema has revised its 912 range of articulated dump trucks, with a move from Perkins power to a Cummins Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB motor. The QSB4.5L engine delivers 105kW of power, up 8% on the previous model, but more importantly has 20% more torque, at 620Nm. Despite the increased output, Hydrema claims similar fuel consumption to the previous ADT line-up.
