Hyundai reveals its latest low emission wheeled loader
Hyundai Construction Equipment is now introducing its new Tier 4 Interim wheeled loader, the HL740-9A model. 196 Cummins QSB6.7 diesel that delivers 116kW and meets Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions requirements. The diesel has advanced electronic Controls and a self-diagnostic system, as well as a high pressure common rail system and advanced in-cylinder combustion technology. This offers increased power, improved transient response and reduced fuel consumption. The engine drives through a fully automatic transmission that the firm says is designed for maximum durability, minimum power loss, improved travel speed and low noise. It also has an improved clutch control and minimised shifting shock when operating. The HL740-9A model allows an operator to optimise power output, transmission, shift time and clutch cut-off activation to the job. Three engine power modes are available; power, standard and economy, as well as four transmission power shift modes; manual, light, normal and heavy.
Hyundai’s HL740-9A wheeled loader weighs in at 12.7tonnes, has a 2.35m3 bucket capacity as standard and is available in an extended reach (XTD) model, which tips the scales at 13tonnes. The loader is also available in a 13.3tonne tool carrier (TM) model with parallel lift.
Other improvements include better operator comfort and a larger, redesigned cab, as well as an LCD monitor that also operates as a rear-view backup camera for better safety onsite. The engine update has also allowed engineers to install a number of other customer-inspired upgrades. In addition to the new emissions solution the machines benefit from better all-around lighting, a more modern radio, an improved rear view camera with a dedicated monitor, and upgraded cab features.

Komatsu has unveiled its 23,590kg operating weight WA470-7 wheel loader, which offers improved efficiency, lower fuel consumption, improved operator comfort and enhanced serviceability. It is powered by a 203kW Stage IIIB/ EPA Tier 4I Komatsu SAA6D125E-6 engine, which is said to lower fuel consumption by 10% to 15% compared with the WA470-6. The engine is fitted with EGR, a hydraulically-actuated variable geometry turbocharger, and an automatically regenerating DPF. As with all Komatsu Stage IIIB machines,
Higher performance is claimed for Komatsu’s Dash 7 version of its well-proven HD785 rigid dump truck, which offers a heaped capacity of 60m3. The 91tonne capacity HD785-7 is matched to Komatsu’s PC1250 and PC2000 excavators, and WA800 and WA900 wheel loaders. The new version of the truck is said to be more powerful than the previous generation machine, with drive from a Komatsu SAA12V140E-3 diesel delivering 1,178kW.
