High reach demolition from Hyundai with the R520LC
236 Hyundai has revealed a high-reach demolition spec excavator at Conexpo 2014 this week, based on its 52tonne R520LC-9A. The R520LC-9A DM, as it is to be known, gets a tilting cab and a high-reach configuration that offers a working height of up to 26.1m.

The three-piece front-end uses a 13.7m boom, 2.7m intermediate arm and 8m arm, allowing a maximum working reach of 14.3M. It all adds up to a much heavier excavator and sees the R520LC-9A DM tipping the scales at 60tonnes.

Power comes from a 196 Cummins QSX11.9 interim Tier 4/Stage IIIB engine rated at 263kW. Long life components include pivot bushings designed for 250hour greasing intervals, which use polymer shims to resist wear and reduce noise.

Extended life hydraulic filters with 1,000hour service intervals and long life hydraulic oil offering a 5,000hour service life are elements that contribute to reduced operating costs for buyers of the R520LC-9A DM.
