New wheeled loaders, a new compact excavator and two new compaction rollers are among the 22 machines which 236 Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas (HCEA) has at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017.

Corey Rogers, marketing manager for HCEA, said: “We wanted to make a very proud statement. When you get in our machines you’ll notice that we’ve got 5-10% better cycle speeds and performance.

“You can also not sit in a Hyundai excavator or wheeled loader cab and not be wowed. We do a lot of things that you won’t see among our competitors, and we pride ourselves on that. We call that our convenience edge. We also have a serviceability edge. It’s very easy to get to the engine compartments and oil filters on our machines. Safety is also such a big thing for us and we have a 360° in-cab, ‘bird’s eye’ visibility system that you can see on two new models at the show.”

CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 saw the launch of the R30Z-9AK compact excavator, which can be seen at the show with Hyundai HDB20 breaker attachment, and Hyundai standard thumb bracket. It is a 3tonne class model featuring a zero-tail swing design for optimum manoeuvrability in confined work spaces.

The 9A series excavators range from 1.7 to 8.2tonnes, and include three zero-tail swing models, the R17Z-9A, R25Z-9A and R35Z-9A; a standard counterweight model, the R55-9A; and two compact-radius models, the R60CR-9A and R80CR-9A.

Meanwhile, the HL975 wheeled loader, with Hyundai bucket, making its world debut this week, is powered by a new 247kW QSG12 engine and equipped with a standard 4.8m³ bucket. With a standard operating weight of 26.5tonnes and a rated tipping load of 20tonnes, the HL975 wheeled loader is said to be well suited for digging and loading in quarries, gravel pits, surface coal mines and other high-production applications.

The CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017-launched Hyundai HR26T-9 tandem-drum compaction roller has an operating weight of 2.9tonnes and drum width of 1,200mm, with a working width of 1,250mm. A Tier 4 Interim-compliant Deutz D 2011 L2i 23kW diesel engine powers the model.

While Hyundai tandem-drum roller models are primarily designed for asphalt paving applications, contractors can also use the machines for soil compaction.

Meanwhile, the HR110C single-drum compaction roller unveiled at the show has a Cummins QSF 3.8 engine and is designed primarily for soil compaction applications. Its compaction drum is available as a smooth or pad-foot surface. A pad-foot kit is available for use with the smooth drum. Continuous tractive force adjustment automatically assures maximum traction. Two-stage vibration provides both surface and deep compaction.
