233 Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) is launching its largest super long front medium excavator at INTERMAT 2015. With an extended operating range, the ZX350LC-5 model has been specially designed for earthmoving on dredging, bank maintenance and slope finishing projects.

Manufactured to comply with the latest EU regulations on emission standards, the ZX350LC-5 has a powerful 202kW Isuzu engine, said to deliver higher productivity with greater fuel efficiency. The auto shutdown and auto idle features prevent fuel wastage, and reduce noise levels, exhaust emissions and CO2.

The new TRIAS hydraulic system is said to have helped boost the productivity of the ZX350LC-5 super long front, because it enables faster operation with less fuel than the previous Zaxis-3 model. The auto power boost function has been increased by 10% to deliver an enhanced excavating and earthmoving performance.

With a strengthened boom and arm, the ZX350LC-5 super long front is said to offer greater durability than the previous Zaxis-3 model, making it suitable for working long hours in rugged and remote environments.

Hitachi says that comfort and safety were also influential factors on the design of the ZX350LC-5 super long front medium excavator. The comfortable cab is equipped with user-friendly features and provides enhanced visibility, particularly down the right hand side of the machine.

To ensure high levels of availability, Hitachi engineers integrated several time-saving easy maintenance features within the design of the ZX350LC-5 super long front. A wide range of useful technical information, such as machine status and settings, can be viewed on the multi-function LCD monitor.

Martin Visser, HCME Product Sales Representative Special Equipment, said: “The latest range of Zaxis-5 special application excavators have been created to exceed the expectations of our customers in Europe. The ZX350LC-5 super long front is a durable and efficient machine, and we look forward to the feedback of new and existing Hitachi customers at INTERMAT.”
