A new system from 2933 Avon Barrier Company is said to offer high protection against terrorists or criminals The firm's SG1500CR anti-terrorist gate meets latest UK and US crash-test standards and is said to be the only gate that has been certified and successfully tested to both the UK PAS 68 and the US ASTM 2656-07 standard with a P1 rating. This sliding armoured vehicle gate offers high levels of proven crash-tested performance and is designed to prevent unauthorised vehicle access, including terrorist attack. It can withstand direct impact forces, including extreme vehicle borne improvised explosive device attack. It can resist a 7.5tonne truck travelling at 80km/h and has also been tested against hostile attack by a 4x4 pickup truck. The SG1500CR incorporates a full impact resistance system which means that a wide range of gate heights and infills can be configured to meet individual site applications. The shallow foundation depth required is less than 500mm. The gate is available in a range of widths.
