A car park in Edinburgh is being investigated by archeologists following the discovery of remains belonging to a nobleman. The grave was found by construction workers who alerted archeologists to the site. The investigations also found the foundations of a monastery on the site, which is known to have been the location of Edinburgh’s ‘Tounis Scule’, The Royal High School, in the 16th and 18th century. A car park in Edinburgh is being investigated by archeologists following the discovery of remains belonging to a nobleman. The grave was found by construction workers who alerted archeologists to the site. The investigations also found the foundations of a monastery on the site, which is known to have been the location of Edinburgh’s ‘Tounis Scule’, The Royal High School, in the 16th and 18th century. The age of the grave means it is unlikely to contain the remains of a parent ferrying a child to or from school and caught in one of the historic city’s legendary traffic jams.
