Heavy duty from Ammann’s eARX 26-2 Light Roller

While categorised as a ‘light’ machine, the compactor actually has an operating weight of 2,640kg

Ammann’s eARX 26-2 Light Tandem Roller features a fully electric drive that can operate for up to 10 hours without recharging.

While categorised as a ‘light’ machine, the compactor actually has an operating weight of 2,640kg. “To have a fully electric machine of this size is a breakthrough,” said Vlasta Medek, Ammann’s global commercial manager for heavy compaction.

Because it is not a combustion engine, the eARX 26-2 is extremely quiet during operation. Sound levels reaching the operator station are 46% less than a diesel version.

The powertrain concept eliminates almost all hydraulic components. The ecological impact is also lessened – and total ownership costs significantly reduced – by replacing the diesel engine and its cooling system.

A key point is the advanced 48V battery pack with a capacity of 600Ah (31.5kWh). The pack’s LiFePO4 technology has each internal battery cell independently protected, so the entire pack is flame-resistant which increases safety.

Asphalt plants are industrial units capable of producing asphalt on a full-scale basis An asphalt plant has several key functions and is designed to accurately dose the aggregates and asphalt to ensure the correct proportions, as established in the mix. The plant should dry and heat the aggregates completely, regardless of their nature and characteristics, in order to obtain perfect adhesiveness with the asphalt binder. The drying system’s combustion gases have to be filtered so that fine aggregates tran
