Heatec’s new emulsion mill skid
1251 Heatec’s new emulsion mill skid is on display at Conexpo. The skid, designed to produce 54tonnes of emulsified asphalt per hour, includes an asphalt meter system, a latex pump, a control panel, and the new Barracuda colloid mill.

In designing the Barracuda mill, engineers from Heatec examined existing mills to research known drawbacks and see how they could be overcome. One of the features of the mill is the ability to make adjustments while the mill is running. Changing the gap between the jaws is a quick and easy operation, according to Heatec.

The mill has gone through extensive testing at an emulsion production facility in Oklahoma City, owned by Vance Brothers.
