Haulotte offers safety and efficiency with new articulating booms

Haulotte introduced two new ranges of articulating booms at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. The HT85 range has a number of potential applications, such as construction, finishing, maintenance, inspection, shipyard construction and tree surgery. Haulotte articualting booms can have many applications

712 Haulotte introduced two new ranges of articulating booms at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

The HT85 range has a number of potential applications, such as construction, finishing, maintenance, inspection, shipyard construction and tree surgery. With a maximum outreach of nearly 78ft 2in, the telescopic boom quickly extends to full height for working efficiency. Due to machine weight limits, users cannot always load all their equipment at once.

The HT85 range addresses this issue by including a 500lb / 770lb dual-load capacity as an option. In 770lb mode, the platform can accommodate an extra 40% of equipment by weight.

The HA80 range extends the design of the company's HA46 and HA61 ranges of articulating booms to offer a working height of 86ft 1in, up-and-over clearance of 30ft 6in, and a 57ft 5in horizontal outreach. It offers a 550lb / 770lb dual load capacity as an option. In 770lb mode, the platform can accommodate an extra 40% of equipment by weight. Other features include an oscillating axle for superior ground adhesion, hydraulic differential wheel lock to effectively distribute power to the wheels, high ground clearance to get over obstacles, and a smaller turning radius and frame to manoeuver in confined spaces.

Both ranges include Haulotte's new safety and efficiency features. The ACTIV’Shield Bar 2.0 provides a safety gap to prevent the operator being crushed without compromising productivity. ACTIV’Lighting System-Safe Load sets lights around the machine for safer movement in dark conditions. The STOP Emission System automatically stops the engine when the operator is working at height to prevent unnecessary engine activity. The system automatically restarts the engine when required and as a result reduces engine and peripheral components use by up to 20%, claims the company.

The ACTIV'Screen on-board diagnostic system provides access to information such as machine settings, maintenance alerts and service intervals.

The HA16RTJ has a working height of 16m while the larger and more powerful offers a working height of 22.5m. Both models offer fast lifting speeds and good gradeability, boosting productivity and allowing use in a wide range of working areas. Maximum outreach for the smaller HA16RTJ is 8.3m while the larger HT23RTJ offers

Haulotte has unveiled a new range of high-precision vertical masts which the manufacturer claims will require minimum maintenance and reduce costs and downtime. Haulotte’s vertical mast booms deliver work platforms for difficult-to-reach places using telescopic masts that can climb to a working height of 6m to 10m. Often used for road-side maintenance work, units like the new Star 8 S vertical mast aim to “provide agility in confined areas” says Haulotte. The mast is “easy” to transport from site to site

Most of the changes are for better operator comfort and controllability of the machine. But there are also changes in the driveline and electrical systems. The most important development is an upgrade of the suspension to a hydro-gas self-lev
