GOMACO’s smart multi-use paver

GOMACO says that its new 3300 multi-application slipform paver is both smart and versatile. The 3300 features tight steering capabilities with smart leg and track positioning, as well as a smart telescoping mold mounting system that allows paving on the right side or left side. Versatile smart paver from GOMACO
218 GOMACO says that its new 3300 multi-application slipform paver is both smart and versatile. The 3300 features tight steering capabilities with smart leg and track positioning, as well as a smart telescoping mold mounting system that allows paving on the right side or left side. The firm’s GT-3300 has now been re-engineered with the latest technology such as the new version of the G+ control system. GOMACO’s 3300 was specifically designed for right side and left side pour capabilities and features a symmetrical design allowing paving from either side. It has a U-shaped operator’s platform giving a good all round view of the paving operation while the control console can slide from side-to-side to suit pour direction. The design includes a 6.1m conveyor with four-way hydraulic positioning that allows accurate concrete placement into the hopper on either side of the machine. The four-way positioning includes pivoting tilt, pivoting swing, longitudinal slide, and sideshifting. The conveyor hydraulically folds to reduce the overall transport length of the paver.

The 3300’s tight steering is achieved with hydraulic rotational drives on the tracks and G+ controls. The 3300’s two front legs are mounted on parallelogram-style pivot arms and the rear leg has power slide for positioning. The smart leg positioning is accomplished with smart cylinders and the G+ digital control system along with smart track rotation to provide the G+ control system with the exact location and position of the tracks and reference to the straight ahead line. Another feature is the smart telescoping mold mounting system for reference to G+ for repeatable mold offset. It has the GOMACO Hook-and-Go mold mounting system to change from one mold profile to the next. The trimmerhead and mold sideshift and vertically-adjust to clear obstacles which allows the 3300 to pave right up to obstacles. The G+ control system interfaces with stringline or a 3D guidance system for the 3300 multi-application paver.

Earlier this year several manufacturers announced new European asphalt pavers being launched at bauma 2013, but more surprises were in store at the show - Mike Woof writes. At the beginning of 2013 a number of manufacturers revealed new asphalt pavers being launched at the bauma 2013 exhibition. BOMAG, Caterpillar, Vögele and Volvo CE all announced new asphalt pavers in the shape of the BF900, AP300D, -3 Series units and new wheeled P-6870C respectively. These machines were at the show and all attracted con
  • High performance, high mobility of wheeled pavers
    February 14, 2012
New generation wheeled pavers aimed at use in territories such as the UK, Italy, South Africa and Southern Germany are now coming to market. Pavers in these countries are often expected to be driven from one part of a site to another or for short distances, which is why the additional mobility of the wheeled machine is preferred in many instances over similarly-sized tracked models. This preference for wheeled units comes in spite of the greater stability offered by tracked machines. BOMAG, Caterpillar and

A Kentucky concrete slipforming contractor is benefiting from new technology in optimising kerb and gutter work. Fox Enterprises now constructs offset kerb, gutter and parking lot island placements using an on-site guidance system. The system permits automated placement of those items, including tight radii. Its fleet recently expanded to include a larger slipform paver that can handle offset curb-and-gutter paving, but also inset pavement slab paving.

Terex says that its latest Bid-Well 6500 Automatic Roller Paver delivers high performance concrete paving for slabs up to 610mm thick. The machine benefits from a heavy-duty frame design and an 8.9tonne operating weight in standard form. The frame can be configured to meet paving widths from 7.3-18.3m wide, suiting applications in a range of duties including airport runways, taxiways and aprons. Capable of width changes in a matter of hours, the roller paver offers an alternative to slipform pavers for thes
