Increased safety with GKD’s Sensor Height & Slew system

8740 GKD Technologies is launching its new Sensor Height & Slew system, which has been designed for construction job-sites. The system suits use on excavators operating in restricted areas and height-confined spaces.  The retro-fit system is said to safeguard the operator and also prevent potential machine damage.

The package offers the ability to monitor and control height, or slew, or a combination of both Height and Slew. Programming of height and slew limits is carried out using the new integrated display with soft button controls and in real-time on the in-cab display monitor.    The monitor notifies the machine operator when approaching and breaching a set limit and an external audio alarm is activated when reaching the limit. An optional intelligent motion-cut prevents infringements and allows only safe movement.

The system is said to be easy to set up and operate, helping the operator create a failsafe exclusion zone and allowing them to maximise the capability of their equipment, so they can continue to work safely.

Efficient new soil compaction machines featuring the latest technology are now coming to market – Mike Woof reports The start of 2014 has seen a major development for the construction equipment sector, with the Tier 4 Final emissions requirements at last beginning to take effect. The implications of the drive towards the introduction of low emission engine technology have been seen right across the off-highway machinery equipment industry, and the soil compaction segment is no exception.
